As Parts Manager, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operation of the Parts Department while working closely with Service and customers to ensure the right parts are available when they’re needed. This role will have a direct impact on inventory, profitability, customer satisfaction, and the overall success of the new location.
What You’ll Do- Lead, supervise, and develop Parts Department employees.
- Oversee parts ordering, receiving, stocking, inventory, issuing, shipping, and delivery.
- Build efficient processes and workflows for the new location.
- Partner closely with the Service Department to maintain appropriate inventory levels and support timely repairs.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate parts purchases to achieve competitive costs.
- Monitor pricing, margins, inventory levels, and department performance.
- Maintain inventory controls and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Develop and manage the Parts Department budget and sales goals.
- Interview, hire, train, schedule, and provide ongoing performance feedback to team members.
- Work directly with customers to address concerns and provide solutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, quality, and customer service.
- Help establish a positive, collaborative team culture as we build out this new location.
- Previous parts management or related leadership experience.
- Experience supervising and developing employees.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, purchasing, and pricing.
- Ability to analyze information and make sound business decisions.
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working collaboratively with Service and other departments.
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3+ years of management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with inventory, order processing, and Microsoft Office systems preferred.
