You’ll be at the center of innovation—turning raw material into precision-engineered solutions. In this role, you will:
- Operate a variety of manual machines including knee mills, engine lathes, jig bores, vertical/horizontal mills, VTLs, and grinders.
- Transform blueprints and sketches into finished products by planning layouts, developing machining processes, and performing detailed setups.
- Perform precision machining operations with tolerances as tight as ±0.005
. - Inspect and measure components to guarantee flawless dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
- Partner with engineers, supervisors, and field machinists to plan cost-effective, high-quality machining strategies.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment—safety is our top priority.
- Bring forward ideas to improve tooling, processes, and programs—your voice matters here.
We’re looking for someone who brings skill, focus, and a passion for precision:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or journeyman certification preferred.
- 2–3 years of hands-on manual machining and grinding experience.
- Strong blueprint and mechanical drawing reading skills.
- Experience operating Bridgeport knee mills, engine lathes, and ideally ProtoTRAK conversational controls.
- Solid understanding of feeds, speeds, and material machinability (ferrous and non-ferrous).
- Strong geometry/trigonometry and problem-solving skills.
- Thrives in a fast-moving, team-oriented environment.
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
- Hands-on work in a dynamic shop environment
- Occasional customer site visits
- Exposure to machining, welding, overhead cranes, and moderate noise—PPE provided.
- OSHA 10 and forklift training provided
- Continuous learning and advanced machining skill development
