Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machines and facility systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems including bearings, belts, hydraulics, pneumatics, seals, alignment, and coolant/ oil systems.
- Assist with electrical and PLC troubleshooting alongside current maintenance staff.
- Perform welding (MIG/TIG), brazing, and light fabrication for equipment and facility repairs.
- Monitor and maintain spare parts inventory for machines and facility systems to minimize downtime.
- Small part fabrication for custom equipment upkeep and repairs.
- Complete and document all work in maintenance logs and software (Maintain X).
- Coordinate with and learn from outside contractors to reduce reliance on third‑party repairs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and machine guarding.
- General Housekeeping And Janitorial Tasks As Required. Perform Other duties as assigned.
- Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
- Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or conducting other preventive maintenance actions.
- Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, precision measuring instruments, or electrical/electronic testing devices.
- Order parts, supplies, or equipment from catalogs or suppliers.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
- Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery.
- Plan and lay out repair work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams.
- Maintain or repair specialized equipment or machinery located in cafeterias, laundries, hospitals, stores, offices, or factories.
- Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
- Estimate costs to repair machinery, equipment, or building structures.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications is a plus.
- 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and general troubleshooting.
- Basic electrical knowledge and exposure to PLC troubleshooting is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Experience using maintenance management systems (e.g., Maintain X).
- Knowledge of machining processes, equipment, and tooling used in piston ring manufacturing is preferred.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written or oral instructions.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
