Supplier Quality Technician
The SQT position is responsible for managing all the needed steps to obtain customer satisfaction in regard to purchased parts. The position will include series monitoring, containment monitoring, part audits, part problem analysis, production support, review of parts during pre-series to ensure quality and generation levels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Solve manufacturing issues via monitoring and analysis of the quality problems, ensuring that contingency and definitive measures are implemented to assure process stability and prevent future issues.
- Audit the product at the OEM manufacturing line, ensuring specification compliance and that manufacturing processes and quality meet standards.
- Evaluate and authorize manufacturing processes and packaging related to the CKD logistic process, according to corporate guidelines.
- Apply methods such as DOE, Six Sigma, and CEP (Closed‑Ended Problems) to analyze root causes of complaints.
- Coordinate with the SQE’s to follow up on projects to achieve quality requirements and process stability.
- Define action plans to implement necessary improvements based on results.
- Influence continuous improvement of our product through audits and series monitoring.
- Recommend technical product improvements by evaluating risks and potential changes to avoid quality manufacturing issues, comparing similar parts on the assembly line.
- Issue KPM complaints and review supplier 8D responses to close open quality topics.
- Support production with part‑related quality topics.
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
- Strong understanding of quality systems and processes.
- Knowledge of inspection techniques and statistical methods (e.g., DOE, Six Sigma, CEP, Fishbone).
- International experience.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes associated with electronics, plastics, textiles, and metals.
- Knowledge of OEM systems.
- Technical knowledge of OEM specifications/drawings.
- Job may require employee to move objects up to 50 lbs.
- Regularly stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts of 8+ hours.
