Hiring:
Aviation Structural / Sheet Metal Mechanic

(Intermediate & Advanced Level)

Milwaukee, WI Area | On‑Site | 1st Shift

Permanent / Direct Hire

Position Overview

This position is responsible for hands‑on sheet metal fabrication, structural assembly, and component repair for aerospace applications. The ideal candidate will have strong sheet metal fundamentals and blueprint experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform metal fabrication tasks including cutting, trimming, drilling, forming, fitting, marking, dent removal, and assembly
  • Fabricate and repair sheet metal and tubular exhaust components (highly desired experience)
  • Assemble and repair aerospace structural components and duct work
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and drawings
  • Support welding fabrication processes (TIG exposure preferred)
  • Perform basic composite and insulation processes, including:
    • Hand lay‑up
    • Curing
    • Trimming
    • Insulation wrapping
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
  • Measure and inspect parts using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and scales
  • Maintain safety, quality, and cleanliness standards in a production service‑center setting
Required Qualifications Intermediate Level (32‑38/hr)
  • 2+ years of sheet metal / metal fabrication experience
  • Experience with forming, fitting, and structural assembly
  • Ability to read blueprints and use precision measurement tools
  • Computer and ERP system experience
Advanced Level (33‑45/hr)
  • 5+ years of aerospace or aviation sheet metal experience
  • Advanced blueprint interpretation and independent fabrication ability
  • Strong experience in complex assemblies and repairs
  • Computer and ERP system experience
Work Schedule & Environment
  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Typically 40–45 hours per week, with some Saturdays as needed
  • Stable workload with consistent overtime when available
  • Clean, climate‑controlled shop environment
  • Not located on an airport or flight line

Travel:
Initial travel to California for training required

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year.
