Position: Blasting Technician (1st Shift Sandblasting of Trains)

Talgo Inc. refurbishes passenger railcars for LA Metro Link at our Milwaukee facility, focusing on high quality mechanical and structural work to extend the service life of the railcars for another 30 years.

What You’ll Do:
  • Operate blasting equipment to strip coatings and surface contaminants from railcar bodies and large surface areas
  • Prepare surfaces for painting or coating following quality and safety standards
  • Load and unload materials into the blasting booth hoppers
  • Adjust and monitor abrasive flow settings on blasting machines
  • Clean and maintain blasting tools and booth area
  • Communicate surface preparation status to leads and supervisors
What We’re Looking For:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Technical certification is a plus)
  • 2+ years of experience in blasting or industrial surface prep
  • Understanding of abrasive materials, blasting tools, and proper safety procedures
  • Ability to follow work instructions and read blueprints
  • Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Physical and Other Requirements:
  • Must be able to pass a pre‑employment drug test
  • May need to work at heights of up to 20 feet
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and perform manual tasks
  • Occasionally required to kneel, stoop, or climb
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
