Base Pay Range
$25.00/hr - $30.00/hr
Position SummaryAs a Machine Builder, you will be responsible for the electrical assembly and integration of custom industrial automation machinery. You will work from detailed engineering drawings and specifications to build machines that meet customer requirements in performance, quality, and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, assembly drawings, and schematics
- Assemble components, subassemblies, and complete machines according to design specifications
- Fit and align parts to precise tolerances using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
- Install pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic wiring in accordance with schematics and layout drawings
- Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and project managers during build and debug phases
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform adjustments or modifications as required
- Support machine testing and customer run‑off (FAT) processes
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment following company and OSHA safety standards
- Document build progress and report any deviations or issues to supervisors and engineers
- Occasionally travel to customer sites for installation and service support (as needed)
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED); technical school or apprenticeship preferred
- 3+ years of experience building custom machinery, automation equipment, or similar systems
- Strong electrical aptitude and understanding of machine assembly practices
- Proficient with hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and shop equipment
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and pneumatic drawings
- Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and ability to work independently or in a team
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
Preferred:
- Experience with robotics, conveyors, servo systems, or motion control integration
- Familiarity with PLCs, sensors, actuators, and industrial wiring
- Basic machining skills (mill, lathe, drill press) a plus
- Forklift or overhead crane certification
