Polisher

Ampco Pumps is a fast-growing manufacturer of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps used in the food and dairy industries, desalination, and various chemical and industrial applications. We are seeking an experienced stainless-steel Polisher for our Glendale, WI location. The primary responsibility of the Polisher is to safely perform a variety of finishing functions such as precision smoothing, grinding, deburring, and polishing stainless steel to a range of finishes.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Operate hand and pedestal polishing/grinding machine to achieve required finish on stainless steel pump components.
• Operate hoist, cranes, pallet jacks, etc., to move equipment from one location to another.
• Review sequence of steps for each job and complete in a timely manner.
• Follow work instructions to comply with customer expectations and industry standards.
• Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures.
• Comply with all safety and sanitation regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

• Know established techniques to achieve proper finishes in multiple features of a product.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Able to stand for 8 hours or more.
• Able to bend, turn, and lift up to 35lbs.

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma/GED
• At least 2 years of metal polishing required.
