Chem Rite CoPac is looking for a Chemical Blending Supervisor to oversee all chemical blending department operations and ensure formulation and blending activities are completed in accordance with established quality, GMP, and production standards. Chem Rite CoPac partners with customers to manufacture high-quality liquid products across a variety of package types while maintaining strict adherence to FDA, GMP, and customer-specific quality requirements.

This position is responsible for managing personnel, coordinating production schedules, maintaining equipment performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting safe and efficient manufacturing operations. The supervisor also performs blending duties as needed and ensures consistent product quality, operational efficiency, and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Blending Operations

  • Oversee daily chemical blending operations to ensure adherence to quality, GMP, and production standards.
  • Coordinate daily mix production schedules with the Production Unit Director to meet production targets.
  • Verify and approve batch records, blending documentation, and process completion.
  • Ensure proper setup, operation, and performance of mix room equipment.
  • Maintain mix rooms in inspection-ready condition at all times.
  • Assist with production activities within the department when necessary.

Personnel Supervision & Leadership

  • Manage personnel resources to ensure full coverage of blending operations.
  • Establish clear expectations and hold employees accountable for performance.
  • Train department personnel on SOPs, GMP requirements, and CRCP procedures.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Ensure completion of required safety and OSHA training by department employees.
  • Promote a safe work environment and enforce safety compliance standards.

Material & Process Coordination

  • Communicate with purchasing and material handling teams to maintain adequate inventory levels.
  • Must be forklift trained and certified to safely perform material handling duties. Coordinate with laboratory and quality control personnel to ensure timely batch approvals.
  • Oversee delivery and storage of tanker materials for optimal tank utilization.
  • Oversee refilling of water system consumables (salt, filters, chlorine, etc.).
  • Coordinate waste pickups and disposal activities.

Equipment & Facility Management

  • Oversee cleaning and sanitization of batching and holding equipment.
  • Ensure maintenance of mix rooms, hold tanks, transfer lines, pumps, and related systems.
  • Monitor equipment performance and proactively resolve issues.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge in operating transfer lines, pumps, mix tanks, chillers, and boilers.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, Chem Rite processes, internal procedures, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Enforce OSHA safety standards and proper PPE usage.
  • Monitor department performance to avoid safety or regulatory citations.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and communicate findings to leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in an FDA-regulated, cGMP manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma required. College coursework or a degree in Chemistry a plus.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience required.
  • Advanced knowledge of chemical handling and reactions.
  • Advanced mathematical proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Ability to lift 50–80 pounds.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
  • Strong computer proficiency and operational knowledge of mixing equipment.

Additional Expectations

The Chemical Blending Supervisor is responsible for maintaining professional relationships across departments and may be assigned additional operational duties as directed by management.
