** JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE:
** Under the direction of the Supervisor, the CNC Lathe, Mill & Hob Operator sets up, adjusts and operates CNC machining equipment for mass production of machined parts in accordance with manufacturing and quality standards and meeting customer specifications.
** ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
** Includes the following, other duties may be assigned.
* Set up, adjust and operate manual and CNC machining equipment for producing machined parts.  Vary or adjust speeds, feeds, tooling, and operating sequences.  Maintain and adjust tooling to hold tolerances.
* Ensure equipment operates correctly and safely.  Diagnose and correct operating, material and tooling problems and notify appropriate personnel as required.
* Operate machines in accordance with cycle times.
* Inspect parts for adherence to quality standards.
* Perform specified equipment maintenance and cleaning.
* Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures.  Comply with all quality and safety regulations.
* Train and guide assisting personnel on set ups and operations.  Assist other operators on the more difficult set ups and operations.
** QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

** EDUCATION AND/OR

EXPERIENCE:

** Requires one to three years of trades training or equivalent experience and three to five years of related machining experience.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

** Requires the ability to operate a wide variety of equipment including CNC machines, broaches, burring, washing equipment, a wide variety of small hand and power tools, and precision measuring tools. Requires knowledge of gear principles, inspection and machine shop procedures# #
