Position: Processing Technician  Injection Molding

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Processing Technician II to support injection molding operations by performing machine start-ups, troubleshooting processing issues, and ensuring product quality. This role acts as a key liaison between Production and Process Engineering while supporting quality, safety, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Start up injection molding machines following mold/material changes, repairs, or maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve processing issues to maintain optimal production performance
  • Monitor process parameters and ensure alarms and controls are functioning properly
  • Submit first-piece samples for quality inspection and approval
  • Perform material changes and manage regrind/scrap processes
  • Support automation troubleshooting and resolve equipment alarms
  • Accurately record downtime and scrap data in process monitoring systems (e.g., Mattec)
  • Collaborate with Engineering to maintain and improve process documentation
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and technical discussions
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas (5S standards)
  • Ensure compliance with Quality, EHS, and regulatory requirements
  • Assist in audit readiness and documentation updates
  • Develop work instructions and training materials as needed
Requirements
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in injection molding
  • Solid understanding of scientific molding principles
  • Knowledge of DOE (Design of Experiments) and SPC (Statistical Process Control)
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments

    Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with computers and production systems
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience as a Process/Processing Technician
  • Advanced training or certification in injection molding
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
