Primary Purpose of the PositionManage the plant Production Control & Supply Chain Executional Planning functions as directed.
Essential Responsibilities- Maintain a safe and secure work environment, including correcting unsafe acts/conditions, facilitating daily/weekly/monthly safety meetings, performing safety inspections, and investigating accidents as required.
- Support development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the food safety system.
- Provide management and administration of the plant Supply Chain Executional Planning functions as directed.
- Work with Master Supply Planners to schedule production of products (cans and ends) to fulfill customer requirements, meet shipping schedules, and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Manage the plant warehouse functions and related operations and personnel to accommodate storage and shipment of raw materials and finished goods.
- Manage assigned external warehouses, including supplier management. Coordinate with Logistics, Quality, and Sourcing to resolve issues.
- Provide forecast input for raw materials (i.e., metal, coatings, etc.) to Sourcing.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and disposition of finished goods.
- Supervise receipt, storage, and control of metal coils for use in production.
- Coordinate with Order Fulfilment and Account Manager to resolve supply issues that are impacting customer deliveries.
- Coordinate resolution of transportation and logistics issues impacting customer deliveries.
- Manage production planning related to specific customer segments that require special administrative handling (e.g., Cash in Advance). Work with other Ball entities, as required (completed by scheduler where applicable).
- Support the quality department in investigating HFI, OSM, sort, and embargo as needed.
- Initiate, review, master, and follow all manuals, policies, procedures, and work instructions for area of responsibility.
- Engage the team to enhance business process and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies. Develop and implement continuous improvement practices and LEAN management methodologies.
- Establish and maintain an employee relations climate of trust and confidence that encourages third‑party interference and promotes achievement of plant and company goals.
- Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the department, division, group, and company; handle stress and interact with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Work a regular five‑day week (Monday–Friday) with potential weekend work and on‑call duties during onboarding.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work‑related experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to apply intensive and diversified evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard plant production control techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Ability to negotiate with customers/contractors to promote or sell ideas or concepts.
- Proficiency in computer usage and basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to handle sensitive related and proprietary information confidentially.
- Ability to perform individual assignments as directed by management.
- Familiarity with company policies, procedures, practices, and standards of conduct as outlined in the Ball Corporation manuals.
- Working knowledge of business principles, legal practices, customer needs and expectations, production control practices and principles, and generally accepted managerial practices and procedures.
