Founded in 1987, Precision Turbo and Engine (PTE) is one of the world’s foremost manufacturers of high performance, aftermarket turbochargers and supporting equipment. Our manufacturing facility is located in Northwest Indiana and has been a worldwide supplier of high‑performance turbochargers and boost control products that have set the standard for uncompromised quality and unsurpassed performance since the late 1990s.

We are looking for an entry‑level assembler to join our assembly team. The role involves repetitive bench and assembly line operations to produce turbochargers and boost control products and to prepare components for the production processes.

Responsibilities
  • Familiarize with all turbocharger assembly instructions and follow work instructions in the manufacturing process.
  • Place parts in the specified relationship, install bolts, retaining clips, screws, and properly fasten parts in the correct order and configuration.
  • Inspect assembled components for conformity and follow all component handling procedures.
  • Operate advanced equipment such as VSR and Component Balancers, conduct fault analysis, and determine corrective action.
  • Work at different stations as production needs require and adapt to varying tasks while the same article moves along the line.
  • Identify and document manufactured turbochargers, including serialization.
  • Perform assembly jobs based on priority and chronological order of assignments.
  • Monitor inventory levels of turbocharger components, alert supervisor of shortages, and coordinate with subcontractors for finished materials.
  • Notify supervisor of non‑conforming parts.
  • Conduct final inspection of finished materials and mentor other employees in the inspection process.
  • Handle materials as assigned, including forklift operation and certification.
  • Follow all company personnel policies and process procedures.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic language skills: read, comprehend, and write simple correspondence.
  • Basic mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning ability: apply common sense in written, oral, or diagram form; solve problems involving several concrete variables.
  • Computer skills: knowledge of inventory and manufacturing software.
  • Interpersonal skills: teamwork, responsive to feedback, problem‑solving, and willingness to take a hands‑on approach.
Physical Demands
  • Stand for extended periods with minimal breaks; occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds; regular lifting of up to 50 pounds; occasional lifting of more than 100 pounds.
  • Use hand tools for fine‑motor assembly operations.
  • Wear safety glasses and steel‑toed shoes; remain on site during the scheduled shift.
  • Regular face‑to‑face interaction with line employees; work in a temperature‑controlled environment with occasional loud noise.
Compensation & Benefits

The starting hourly rate for this position is $19.50
