Position Title: High Level Mechanical Assembler
Wage: $24-$29/hour
Shift: 1st
Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm
QPS Employment Group is hiring a Mechanical Assembler for a company in Milwaukee, WI. This is an associate to hire opportunity on 1st shift.
Responsibilities- Assemble mechanical systems and components, such as engines, frames, wheels, suspension systems, and other vital train parts, according to engineering drawings and specifications
- Integrate mechanical components into complete systems, ensuring proper fit, function, and alignment
- Conduct inspections and perform quality checks on assembled parts and systems to verify compliance with the company’s internal standards and engineering specifications
- Use hand tools, power tools, lifting equipment, and precision instruments to assemble and adjust mechanical components
- Identify and resolve mechanical issues or discrepancies during assembly and suggest improvements to the assembly process
- Work closely with engineers, quality assurance teams, and other assembly workers to meet production goals and timelines
- Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, component inventory, and any issues encountered during assembly
- Follow all safety guidelines, use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, and ensure a safe working environment
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in mechanical assembly, plumbing, or related fields is preferred
- Proven experience as a mechanical assembler or in a similar role within manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, or railway industries
- Preferred previous experience in the transportation industry, especially rail or automotive manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, components, and assembly techniques
- Must have plumbing skills, including experience working with piping, fittings, and fluid systems
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and mechanical measuring instruments (e.g., torque wrenches, calipers)
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Experience in system integration and mechanical troubleshooting
- Knowledge of safety protocols and industry standards for mechanical assembly
- Preferred familiarity with quality control processes and mechanical testing equipment
- Preferred basic understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems is a plus
- Preferred certification in mechanical assembly or relevant industrial certifications
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and precision in mechanical work
- Good communication skills for effective teamwork and collaboration
- Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to adapt to challenges on the assembly floor
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet production deadlines
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of the role, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
