Position: 25S Satellite Communication Systems Operator-Maintainer

Job Description

Communication is a vital part of the military’s ability to run successful missions. It is the role of the Satellite Communication Systems Operator‑Maintainer to ensure lines of communication remain open by installing, operating, and maintaining strategic and tactical multi‑channel satellite communications.

Duties
  • Transmit, receive, and log messages according to military procedures.
  • Encode and decode classified messages.
  • Operate telephone switchboards.
  • Install, maintain, and operate communications equipment.
  • Monitor and respond to emergency calls.
  • Provide technical guidance to other soldiers (Advanced operators).
  • Identify and report electronic jamming and deception.
  • Apply appropriate electronic countermeasures.
  • Conduct stressed and unstressed network operations.
  • Prepare system and equipment related forms and reports.

  • Maintenance and care of communications equipment.

Requirements
