Operations Manager, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Are you a hands‑on leader with a passion for manufacturing excellence, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement? We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance and engineering functions across multiple manufacturing facilities. This is a high‑impact leadership role responsible for maximizing equipment uptime, improving productivity, managing capital projects, and developing a world‑class maintenance program.
Working directly with the Director of Operations, you will play a critical role in ensuring our facilities, equipment, and processes operate at peak performance while supporting future growth initiatives.
What You'll Do- Lead and develop maintenance and engineering teams across multiple facilities.
- Drive equipment reliability through preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Oversee installation, testing, qualification, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment.
- Manage facility maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and grounds.
- Plan and execute capital equipment and facility improvement projects.
- Coordinate contractors, vendors, and service providers to ensure quality and cost‑effective work.
- Develop budgets, project timelines, facility layouts, and equipment specifications.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DNR, and other regulatory requirements.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Evaluate team performance, provide coaching and training, and support employee development.
- Partner with operations leadership to improve productivity, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
- 8+ years of management experience in a precision CNC machining or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance management, manufacturing engineering, facilities management, and capital projects.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting expertise.
- Ability to make sound decisions independently in both routine and emergency situations.
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
- Experience with ISO 9001 standards, corrective actions, SPC, and manufacturing systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Bachelor's Degree in Plant Management, Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Journeyman Machinist certification.
- OSHA certifications and safety program experience.
- Experience managing multiple facilities and large‑scale capital improvement projects.
- Lead critical initiatives that directly impact company performance.
- Influence strategic equipment, facility, and process improvement decisions.
