Sr. Production Supervisor – PM Shift
Shift5:00 pm - 3:00 am, Monday – Friday
Pay$90,000 - $105,000 per year
Job OverviewThis role oversees daily operations in a high‑speed, state‑of‑the‑art bakery production facility. Leading a large team on the PM shift, you will ensure safe, high‑quality specialty food products by managing multiple production lines, coordinating with support functions, and driving continuous improvement through Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Responsibilities- Oversee daily production and packaging operations on two high‑speed lines, ensuring optimal performance, product flow, and adherence to schedules.
- Lead and manage a team of approximately 58–62 production associates and 2–3 supervisors, providing direction, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Warehousing, Sanitation, and Maintenance teams to align on goals and ensure seamless coordination across departments.
- Monitor and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by identifying bottlenecks, analyzing root causes, and implementing corrective actions to reduce downtime and waste.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles to enhance productivity, improve processes, and standardize best practices across the production floor.
- Promote and support continuous improvement initiatives, engaging team members in problem‑solving activities and encouraging suggestions for process enhancements.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and food safety standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), SQF, and HACCP protocols.
- Conduct regular floor walks and audits to verify compliance with safety, quality, and housekeeping standards and take prompt action to address any non‑conformances.
- Utilize ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools to track production data, prepare reports, and communicate key performance indicators to leadership.
- Oversee and guide other supervisors, ensuring consistent application of policies, procedures, and performance standards across all teams.
- Support training and development of associates and supervisors, building strong leadership capabilities and fostering a culture of accountability and engagement.
- Assist with scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation to meet production demands while maintaining efficiency and minimizing overtime.
- Participate in or lead quality inspection and process improvement activities to maintain high product standards and customer satisfaction.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience, preferably in a GMP‑regulated manufacturing or food production environment.
- Demonstrated experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies and structured problem‑solving approaches.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to develop, coach, and motivate teams at multiple levels.
- Hands‑on experience in operations management, including process improvement and quality inspection.
- Proficiency with ERP systems for production planning, tracking, and reporting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and related tools.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret data and make sound decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
- Solid supervisory skills, including delegation, conflict resolution, and performance management.
- Ability to work the PM/3rd shift schedule of 5:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends as needed.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a strong plus.
- Formal Lean training, such as a Green Belt certification, is highly desirable.
- Experience leading or overseeing other supervisors in a high‑speed production environment.
- Experience in food manufacturing or bakery operations is beneficial.
- Experience working within SQF, HACCP, and GMP frameworks is an advantage.
