Job Overview
The Machine Operator will be responsible for operating equipment in one or more value streams of the Florist operations. This position focuses on producing valuable, defect‑free products that meet or exceed customer expectations. Success requires adherence to standard work and company policies.
Working ConditionsPositions are 12‑hour day shift (5:50 am – 6:00 pm).
Location:
manufacturing plant at 2230 W. Florist Ave., Glendale, WI.
- Weighing and mixing raw materials following batch instructions.
- Handling hazardous materials using engineering controls and PPE.
- Willingness and ability to learn and contribute to Lean/5S/continuous improvement.
- Perform production equipment setup, clean‑up, safe operation, and operator‑level maintenance of assigned equipment.
- Identify and maintain quality standards while meeting daily and weekly production goals.
- Follow established standard work documents.
- Adjust production equipment as necessary.
- Communicate production performance to leaders and departments.
- Support continuous improvement by serving on project teams as required.
- Adhere to Brady’s attendance, safety and other company policies.
- Maintain general housekeeping and clean production areas at end of every shift.
- Provide support within other production areas and other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic math and computer skills (email, MS Office, G Suite, data entry).
- Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Flexible schedule to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for 100 % of shift.
- Ability to bend, twist, crawl, climb, and reach to perform job duties.
- Ability to push/pull 22 lbs.
- Ability to read a micrometer accurately within 0.0005”.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
