Job SummaryWe are looking for a Skilled Metal Worker with 10+ years of experience on the shop floor of a metalworking facility. You should be familiar with the types of equipment used in metal fabrication and have the ability to learn to do setups on a variety of different machines. The ideal candidate has a range of experience across different areas of the shop - bending, cutting, forming, and finishing - and, most importantly, brings an eagerness to troubleshoot and learn.
If you have experience working with clients who require tight tolerances and consistent quality on repeatable production runs -- or you want that experience -- this role will be a great fit.
- Perform machine set-ups across a variety of tube and rod bending and fabrication equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and specifications to set up jobs correctly the first time
- Conduct precision quality checks throughout production runs, using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to confirm parts meet dimensional and tolerance requirements
- Operate and adjust CNC and manual bending, cutting, and forming equipment to produce parts within tight tolerances
- Perform secondary operations as needed, such as deburring, cutting, drilling, or light assembly
- Train new and existing operators on machine operation, set-up standards, and quality expectations
- Troubleshoot and fix production floor engineering issues, minimizing downtime and scrap
- Identify and flag material or quality issues before they affect a production run
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area consistent with shop safety standards
- Communicate proactively with leads and supervisors on job status, issues, and timelines
- 10+ years of hands‑on experience on the shop floor of a metalworking or metal fabrication facility
- Familiarity with the equipment used in metal fabrication (tube/rod bending, cutting, forming, or related processes)
- Ability to learn and perform set-ups across a variety of different machines
- Strong blueprint and specification reading skills, including basic GD&T
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges; CMM experience a plus)
