Role Description

The Machining Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Greater Milwaukee. This role oversees day‑to‑day machining operations, including scheduling jobs, assigning work, and monitoring production to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets. The manager coordinates machine setup and workflow, ensures proper use and maintenance of equipment, and supports continuous improvement of processes. Responsibilities include supervising and developing machining staff, enforcing safety standards, and collaborating with engineering, quality, and customer service teams to resolve production issues.

The role also involves tracking performance metrics, managing materials and tooling needs, and contributing to strategic planning for capacity and capability.

Qualifications
  • Experience managing machining or manufacturing operations, including daily production planning, workflow coordination, and resource allocation.
  • Knowledge of CNC and manual machining processes, tooling, equipment setup, and basic maintenance practices.
  • Background in quality standards for machined parts, including reading technical drawings, using measurement tools, and supporting corrective actions.
  • Leadership skills in supervising production teams, coaching staff, and fostering a collaborative, safety‑focused work culture.
  • Ability to use manufacturing‑related software and basic office tools for scheduling, reporting, and communication.
  • Strong problem‑solving, organizational, and time‑management abilities in a fast‑paced production environment.
  • Prior experience in contract manufacturing or custom component production is beneficial.
  • Relevant technical education or equivalent practical experience in machining, manufacturing technology, or industrial management.
