Position Summary
The Engineered Drives business unit at our Canal Street plant is seeking a skilled Machinist to support gearing, pinion, and housing machining operations. This role is responsible for producing high‑quality components to meet precise engineering and production standards while maintaining safety, accuracy, and efficiency on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities- Set up, operate, and maintain machining equipment used in the production of gearing, pinion, and housing components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Perform precision machining tasks to meet required tolerances and quality specifications.
- Utilize CNC equipment to complete machining operations; ensure correct tooling, speeds, feeds, and machine settings.
- Conduct routine machine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
- Verify part dimensions using appropriate measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.).
- Document work, maintain accurate production records, and follow all quality and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and engineering personnel to resolve production issues and improve processes.
- 3-5 years of machining experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or heavy‑equipment environment.
- CNC machining experience is required, including setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong understanding of precision measuring tools and machining tolerances.
- Proven ability to work safely and follow established manufacturing procedures.
- VTL (Vertical Turret Lathe) experience strongly preferred but not required.
- Experience working with gearing, pinion, or housing components is a plus.
- Familiarity with engineered or heavy‑duty drive components.
Physical Requirements
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and shop‑floor conditions.
- Ability to lift, move, and position materials and tools as required (typically up to 40 lbs).
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive machining tasks.

: 1st 6am – 2pm & 3rd 10pm – 6am
