Location: West Milwaukee

Position Title:

CNC Lathe Set Up Operator – 1st or 2nd Shift

Wage: $22.00 – $35.00 per hour

Shift: 1st or 2nd

Hours:

6:00am – 2:30pm or 2:30pm – 11:00pm

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC lathe machines to produce parts according to blueprints and specifications.
  • Load raw materials and monitor machine operations to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform tool changes, offsets and basic program edits as needed.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Ensure parts meet quality standards and tolerances.
  • Troubleshoot minor machine issues and make necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Collaborate with team members, supervisors and quality personnel to meet production goals.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of experience operating CNC lathe machines (setup experience preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling and materials.
  • Experience with measuring tools and quality inspection processes.
  • Basic knowledge of CNC programming (G-code) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50lb.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to handle small parts.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
