The Assembly Supervisor will oversee daily operations for the 1st Shift assembly team, ensuring custom machinery is built safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role combines hands‑on technical expertise with strong leadership, coaching, and production planning responsibilities.
The ideal candidate has a background assembling custom machinery or automated equipment and is comfortable leading technicians in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Supervise, coach, and develop a team of assembly technicians on 1st Shift.
- Coordinate daily assembly activities to meet production schedules and customer deadlines.
- Lead the assembly of custom automation equipment and complex machinery.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, and Quality to resolve build issues and improve processes.
- Monitor productivity, quality, and safety performance within the department.
- Train and mentor employees on assembly techniques, procedures, and best practices.
- Review engineering drawings, bills of materials, and work instructions to ensure accurate machine builds.
- Troubleshoot mechanical assembly issues and provide technical guidance to the team.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety‑focused work environment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, quality, and employee engagement.
- 5+ years of experience assembling custom machinery, automated equipment, or industrial machinery.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience in a manufacturing or machine‑building environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience interpreting mechanical drawings and assembly documentation.
- Comfortable working on‑site in a 1st Shift manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to lead teams, prioritize work, and meet production deadlines.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience working closely with Engineering and Production teams is preferred.
- Technical degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands‑on experience is a plus.
