Your Role in Our Success

At PFERD as the Maintenance Technician III (2nd Shift Monday - Friday 2:30PM - 10:30PM) you will perform a wide variety of duties to support machine operation. This position is responsible for the setup and repair of all mechanical, hydraulic, and specialty equipment within the facility. Quality of assembly is a top concern to ensure that the correct components are used by following samples, orders, and other documents to meet product specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
  • Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Set up, troubleshoot, minor repairs and maintain all equipment and machinery within the facility
  • Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems
  • Removes and replaces worn parts
  • Removes and replaces machine tooling
  • Realigns and adjusts components
  • Starts machine/equipment to test operation following repair
  • Perform spin testing to confirm the correct setup
  • Responsible for monitoring inventory levels and ensuring materials are available in cells
  • Responsible for maintaining tools and spare parts inventory
  • Maintains constant contact with production personnel, supervisors, and engineers to obtain maximum machine uptime and improve standards
  • Perform the required preventive maintenance (PM) work
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with company standards and the 5S program.
  • Demonstrate basic knot development skills
  • Must follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
  • High School/GED, must have a minimum of 8 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Advanced knowledge and work experience in electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Proficient with the use of adjustable measuring devices, rules, scales, gages, and fixtures
  • Experience in troubleshooting PLC programs a plus
  • Ability to identify, solve problems, and multi-task under deadlines.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft office
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivational, enthusiastic, and have a positive attitude
  • Ability to perform as a team player
