CNC Machinist Responsibilities:- Read and complete set-up sheets; configure CNC lathes (vertical, horizontal, multi-axis, Swiss-style) for production runs
- Run CNC lathes (e.g., Okuma, Mazak, Mori Seiki, HAAS) to produce parts from drawings, CAD models, or pre-written CNC programs
- Perform first-piece inspections and ongoing checks to ensure conformance to specifications; use micrometers, calipers, and other gauges
- Install, adjust, and replace cutting tools; recognize tool wear and replace as needed
- Perform daily preventative maintenance and housekeeping duties
- Assist with quality control plans, suggest machining methods to improve efficiency, and provide guidance to less experienced operators
- Follow OSHA, ISO, and company safety procedures
- Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology or related field preferred - 5+ years in CNC lathe set-up; experience with
Skills:
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and CNC programs (G-code, M-code) - Proficiency in precision measuring tools and fixtures
- Knowledge of steel manufacturing processes and CNC lathe operation
- Strong math skills (fractions, decimals, geometry, trigonometry) IND
