PEM/Haeger Hardware Insertion Technician (Sheet Metal Fabrication)
Join MPE and help shape medical technology that changes lives. As an Insertion Technician, you’ll transform precision-fabricated metal parts into finished components by installing hardware to exact specifications. You’ll work with purpose, alongside teammates who value quality, safety, and craftsmanship.

A Day in the Life You start your shift by reviewing the day’s work orders and mechanical drawings (both standard and metric). You’ll set up Haeger/PEM insertion equipment, confirm tooling, run first-article checks, and carefully install a variety of fasteners into steel components. Throughout the day, you’ll measure dimensions, verify your work against print requirements, and perform peer verifications to ensure the line keeps flowing smoothly—on time and to spec.

Compensation and Schedule Pay: $18.00–$21.50 per hour (based on experience)

Schedule:

Monday–Friday Racine:
First Shift, 6:00 am–2:30 pm Milwaukee:
Second Shift, 2:30 pm–11:00 pmKey Responsibilities Install a range of hardware into steel fabricated parts using Haeger inserting equipment.

Read and interpret mechanical drawings; work confidently with standard and metric dimensions.

Verify parts against print requirements and perform cross-checks on other operators’ work.

Qualifications Education High  school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience and Training Proficient with basic hand and power tools.

Able to read and understand work orders, mechanical drawings, and work instructions.

Comfortable calculating dimensions and measurements.

Capable of interpreting written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule-based instructions.

Physical and Mental Demands Regular operation of PEM inserting machinery and measuring tools.

Ability to read and follow written instructions and blueprints.

Close-vision acuity and solid math skills.
