We are seeking a Production Supervisor to lead our Custom Fabrication Department, overseeing welders, metal assemblers, and wood product assemblers. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for production scheduling, capacity planning, workforce management, quality, safety, and on-time delivery of custom-built products.
Key Focus of the RoleThe primary responsibility of this position is to effectively schedule labor and production activities across welding, metal assembly, and wood assembly operations to ensure customer orders ship on time while maximizing efficiency and resource utilization.
Responsibilities- Create and manage daily and weekly production schedules
- Coordinate labor and capacity across welding, assembly, and wood product departments
- Lead, coach, and develop production employees
- Monitor production performance, labor efficiency, and on-time delivery
- Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, bottlenecks, and capacity constraints
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and ISO standards
- Track key metrics including productivity, rework, scrap, and training
- Maintain inventory accuracy and reduce material waste
- Partner with Engineering, Planning, and Quality teams to meet customer requirements
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve workflow and productivity
- Support equipment maintenance and safe operation of production machinery
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate's degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or team lead experience in a manufacturing environment required
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience required
- Experience with production scheduling, capacity planning, and labor allocation required
- Experience in welding, fabrication, assembly, or woodworking environments preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP experience (Net Suite preferred)
- Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Must wear required PPE, including safety shoes and safety glasses
- Manufacturing facility environment
- Exposure to machinery, welding operations, airborne particles, and noise
- Stable and growing manufacturing company
