This is an excellent opportunity for a Grant Writer (40 hours/week) at our Milwaukee, WI Administrative Offices.

PPWI’s compensation philosophy is rooted in equity. Starting offers are determined by both the candidate’s applicable experience and internal equity. The Grant Writer pay starts from $26.03 per hour.
Additional $1.50 per hour for bilingual (English/Spanish) Purpose of PositionThe Grant Writer is responsible for developing, preparing, and submitting high-quality grant proposals that advance the organization’s mission and strategic priorities. Additionally, they are responsible for research and identification of institutional funding opportunities. Through internal partnerships and collaboration, they will ensure reporting and compliance requirements are fulfilled. This role plays a key part in sustaining and expanding the organization’s revenue through clear, persuasive, and mission‑aligned written materials.
Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities

- Demonstrated knowledge of best practices of grant proposal creation and grants management.
- Skilled in written and verbal communications.

- Ability to prioritize and manage simultaneous projects.
- Experience in Microsoft
365 required, with experience in Raiser's Edge (NXT) or another relational database software preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree required in English, Communications, Business Management, or related.
- Three years of fundraising, grant writing, grant management or related experience required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired may be considered.
The position is predominantly sedentary requiring the ability to sit, bend, stand and walk. May require occasional stooping, reaching, stair‑climbing and repetitive motions of the hands and wrist related to writing and typing at an electronic keyboard. Rarely requires kneeling, pushing/pulling and repetitive motions of the feet. Physical demands of the position necessitate hearing, talking, handling and grasping regularly. May require lifting up to 30 pounds.
Specific vision conditions include close vision reading.
The position is generally performed in an office environment but involves frequent interruptions. The noise level is generally low. The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
