Regional Field Manager, Wisconsin at Stand Together

About the role In this position, known internally as the Grassroots Engagement Director, you will play a pivotal role in fostering and mobilizing a network of community leaders throughout Wausau and the broader North Central region of Wisconsin. Your primary responsibility will be to drive meaningful policy reform by identifying and empowering local activists, equipping them with the necessary resources to advocate effectively for change.

What you'll do
  • Identify and recruit passionate community members who can spearhead local advocacy initiatives.
  • Equip activists with comprehensive training and resources that align with the policy objectives of AFP.
  • Organize and manage public engagement activities, such as door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, and outreach via social media platforms.
  • Create innovative strategies to inform the public about specific policy initiatives and their implications.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the activist network to ensure sustained engagement and motivation.
  • Oversee part-time canvassing contractors, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and adherence to operational best practices.
  • Collaborate with local leaders to develop grassroots campaigns that resonate with community values.
  • Analyze feedback from community members to refine advocacy strategies and improve outreach efforts.
  • Foster relationships with local organizations and stakeholders to amplify the impact of advocacy campaigns.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of advocacy initiatives, adjusting strategies as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Engage in public speaking opportunities to represent AFP's mission and objectives within the community.
  • Support the development of educational materials that clarify policy issues for community members.
Requirements
  • Proven ability to connect with diverse groups and inspire collective action.
  • Solid understanding of public policy issues at both state and federal levels.
  • Self-motivated with a strong focus on achieving set objectives and goals.
  • Excellent organizational skills to effectively manage multiple projects and events simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with AFP staff and volunteers to achieve common goals.
  • Willingness to engage in direct outreach efforts, including canvassing and phone banking, and to coordinate volunteer activities.
  • A valid driver's license is required for travel within the region and throughout the state.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to accommodate community events.
  • Commitment to the Principle Based Management framework and alignment with the organizational culture of Stand Together.
Nice to have
  • Previous experience in political campaigns, community organizing, or grassroots advocacy efforts.
  • Experience in supervising staff or managing volunteers in a community-focused setting.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and platforms for organizing and outreach.
