Job Summary:

Planning and promotion of outreach to UWM students about upcoming elections and voter registration.

Essential Functions:
  • Utilize provided marketing materials for outreach to UWM students about upcoming elections and their process for voting registration
  • Create marketing materials regarding elections and voter registration as needed
  • Co-coordinate and facilitating tabling, social and educational programming, and student outreach prior to elections in partnership with the Pathers Vote Coordinator
  • Assist with voting related e-mail and social media outreach to students in collaboration with the Panthers Vote Coordinator, Student Affairs marketing, and UWM Marekting and Communication
  • Promote student voting around major campus events like University Housing Move in and Fall Welcome to encourage new students to register to vote
  • Provide training and outreach to Orientation Leaders, Resident Assistant, classes, and student leaders as requested around student voting
  • Attend twice-monthly meetings with the Panthers Vote Coordinator for planning, feedback, and idea generation
  • Staff voting promotion events on election days, National Voter Registration Day, Constitution Day, and other civic celebration days
  • Engage in ongoing training and education on voting processes and changes to student voting that may impact UWM students
  • Maintain a non-partisan approach to voting promotion whenever acting in their capacity as a Dean of Student Office Panthers Vote employee
Qualifications
  • Strong interest in college student voting and civic engagement.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with other students and answer questions
  • Proficiency with basic computer programs like Word and Outlook
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, and move 20 lbs wheeled cart occasionally.
Working Conditions
  • Indoor and outdoor promotional tables and office environment.
