Major Gifts Officer

The American National Red Cross seeks a mission-driven Major Gifts Officer to grow philanthropic support for lifesaving programs nationwide. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of high-capacity donors, develop tailored cultivation and stewardship strategies, and secure significant gifts to advance disaster relief, blood services, health and safety education, and support for military families. Partnering with leadership, volunteers, and program teams, you will create impact-focused proposals, conduct donor visits and events, and use CRM tools to track outcomes, strengthen relationships, and meet annual revenue goals in a collaborative, humanitarian culture.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of major gift donors and prospects to meet annual revenue goals.
• Develop and execute individualized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
• Conduct donor meetings, site visits, and presentations to communicate the Red Cross mission and impact.
• Prepare compelling proposals, cases for support, and donor communications.
• Collaborate with leadership, program staff, and volunteers to align donor interests with funding priorities.
• Use CRM systems to track donor interactions, pipeline, and revenue forecasts.
• Analyze fundraising data to inform strategy and report on progress against goals.
• Coordinate and support donor cultivation and recognition events.
• Ensure adherence to fundraising ethics, gift policies, and confidentiality standards.
• Represent the American National Red Cross at community and philanthropic engagements.
