Advancement Officer

The American National Red Cross seeks an Advancement Officer to drive philanthropic support for its humanitarian mission. This role manages a portfolio of donors, designs and executes fundraising strategies, and prepares proposals and reports for individuals, corporations, and foundations. The Advancement Officer stewards donor relationships, coordinates cultivation events, and collaborates across teams to create compelling impact narratives. Ideal candidates bring strong fundraising, writing, and relationship-building skills and a passion for compassionate, mission-driven work.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate and manage a portfolio of individual, corporate, and foundation donors to support Red Cross humanitarian programs.
• Develop and implement fundraising strategies, campaigns, and appeals aligned with organizational goals.
• Research and identify new funding prospects and prepare tailored proposals and grant applications.
• Plan and support donor events, briefings, and stewardship activities to deepen engagement.
• Track fundraising metrics, prepare donor reports, and ensure accurate CRM and gift documentation.
• Collaborate with communications and program teams to create compelling donor materials and impact stories.
• Ensure compliance with fundraising policies, ethical standards, and donor confidentiality requirements.
• Represent the Red Cross at community and networking events to build visibility and partnerships.
