Community Partnership Manager

The Community Partnership Manager will lead City Year Milwaukee's local community partnership and prospect-generation strategy to build a strong pipeline of prospective Ameri Corps members and strengthen the Ameri Corps member experience. The manager will identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with high schools, colleges, community-based organizations, workforce development partners, businesses, alumni, and other community champions throughout Milwaukee and Wisconsin.

Working closely with City Year Milwaukee staff and the national Corps Talent Acquisition team, the Community Partnership Manager will create opportunities for prospective Ameri Corps members to learn about service, ensure strong handoffs into the application and admissions process, and use community partnerships to expand career, professional development, and engagement opportunities for current Ameri Corps members. A significant portion of the role will be community-facing and requires strong relationship management, strategic planning, event execution, data tracking, and cross-functional collaboration.

This position reports to the Senior Managing Director of Program & Operations and is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The role includes regular travel throughout Milwaukee and the surrounding area for school, community, recruitment, and partner events.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or a comparable combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in community engagement, recruitment, partnership development, youth development, workforce development, outreach, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining relationships with schools, community organizations, businesses, prospective candidates, or other external stakeholders.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and organizational skills, with the ability to represent City Year professionally in community settings.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and follow through on commitments.
  • Ability to interpret and use data, reports, and analytics to adjust outreach and partnership strategies.
  • Experience planning, coordinating, or supporting events, presentations, workshops, or community engagement activities.
  • Authorized documentation to work in the United States of America.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background checks.

Responsibilities

The Community Partnership Manager will perform the following roles and responsibilities:

Community Partnership Development & Local Outreach

  • Identify, assess, cultivate, and steward relationships with youth-serving organizations, high schools, community colleges, universities, workforce development organizations, nonprofits, civic partners, businesses, and other community stakeholders that can expand awareness of City Year Milwaukee.
  • Develop and execute a strategic community partnership plan that identifies priority audiences, key partners, outreach strategies, events, and opportunities to generate prospective Ameri Corps member interest.
  • Build mutually beneficial partnerships that support City Year Milwaukee's Ameri Corps member pipeline, strengthen the organization's local brand, and create value for community partners.
  • Develop relationships with district, city, county, and state stakeholders connected to postsecondary pathways, career placement, youth development, and workforce development.

Prospect Generation, Recruitment & Community Events

  • Represent City Year Milwaukee at career fairs, tabling events, community events, school-based activities, informational sessions, and other prospect-facing opportunities.
  • Create opportunities to bring City Year to prospective Ameri Corps members through presentations, workshops, application support, professional development sessions, open houses, and other value-add engagement.
  • Partner with the national Corps Talent Acquisition team to ensure prospective Ameri Corps members experience a seamless, timely, and warm handoff from local outreach into the national application and admissions process.
