PARENT ENGAGEMENT OUTREACH COORDINATOR

The Black Child Development Institute of Wisconsin (BCDI-Wisconsin) is seeking a self-motivated Parent Engagement Outreach Coordinator. Under the leadership of the Manager of Maternal and Child Health Services, the Parent Engagement Outreach Coordinator implements programs and activities that promote meaningful parent and family engagement across BCDI-Wisconsin initiatives, with primary responsibility for supporting the Healthy Start for Growing Families (HSFGF) program funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).

The focus of this grant is to improve birth outcomes before, during and after pregnancy in Milwaukee and Racine. The primary objective of this role is to recruit, engage, and retain parent participation within the community consortium. The Community Consortium is the community aspect of the Healthy Start for Growing Families Program that is led by BCDI. The consortium brings together stakeholders who are invested in maternal and child health, program partners, and parents within the community to take action towards improving birth outcomes in Milwaukee and Racine.

• Develop, coordinate, and implement parent and family engagement strategies for the Healthy Start for Growing Families program that include workshops, educational classes, support groups, outreach activities, and community events aligned with BCDI-Wisconsin’s mission and grant objectives.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with parents, caregivers, community members, healthcare providers, schools, and community-based organizations to strengthen family engagement and improve access to resources.
• Represent BCDI-Wisconsin and the Healthy Start for Growing Families program at community meetings, outreach events, health fairs, and public engagement opportunities while independently coordinating outreach activities and serving as a professional ambassador for the organization.
• Assist with the planning, coordination, and facilitation of Healthy Start Community Consortium meetings, including logistics, participant engagement, parent recruitment, documentation, follow-up communication, and activities that advance community collaboration and grant objectives.
• Foster collaboration among HSFGF community health navigators, and grant partners to strengthen referral networks, align resources, and reduce duplication of services.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of outreach activities, participant engagement, grant deliverables, attendance, evaluations, surveys, reports, and other required documentation while ensuring compliance with Healthy Start and BCDI-Wisconsin reporting requirements.
• Collect, analyze, and summarize program data to evaluate outcomes, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and prepare reports for leadership.
• Communicate proactively with supervisors regarding program activities, scheduling changes, community partnerships, barriers to assigned responsibilities, and other issues that may impact program delivery.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, professional development, and other organizational activities while performing additional duties that support the mission of BCDI-Wisconsin and the Healthy Start for Growing Families program.

• Bachelor’s degree OR current enrollment in a degree program in Social Work, Public Health, Education, Child Development, Human Services, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field preferred. An associate’s degree, relevant coursework, or an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
