Job DescriptionNight Shift (12 hours/day, 3 days/week) in a Level III Perinatal Center. Required to provide Level III perinatal care, support high-risk mothers and newborns, and perform a variety of L&D duties.

- Experience:
2 years - First-time traveler: NO
- Must have Level III Perinatal Care experience (high‑risk mothers/newborns); no travelers accepted without this experience
- High‑risk mothers and newborns
- Placenta accreta support, tubal ligation, cerclage, hysterectomies, secondary nursing for C‑section deliveries, circulation in vaginal deliveries, surgical recovery, newborn care, massive transfusions, pre‑eclampsia, COVID
- 280 deliveries per month on average
- No circulation for C‑sections as primary nurse
- Fit‑tested at facility
- Single‑use PPE
- CAPR/PAPR available
- 1:1‑2 Active Labor
- 1:3 Antepartum
- Follows AWHONN staffing guidelines
- RN: BLS, NRP, FHM
- OB Tech: BLS, CST
- RN:
Fetal monitoring, maternal assessments/interventions, high‑risk newborns post‑delivery, cervical exams for labor progression, OB triage, assist with circulating C‑sections, primary nurse for vaginal deliveries, assist with procedures, postpartum, L&D recoveries - OB Tech:
Scrub C‑sections, draw cord gases and blood at deliveries, perform stocking, delivery setup, room setup, Health Unit Coordinator tasks on the unit
- Charge nurse: patient assignment based on staffing
- Clinical Resource Nurse
- Phlebotomy: lab draws (shared role with RN)
- RT, house supervisor, certified nurse midwives, OBGYN providers, OB anesthesia onsite 24/7
- Teaching hospital with OBGYN residents, family practice docs, and midwives
- EPIC
- Alaris
- Pyxis
- Fetal Monitoring
- Epidural Pumps
- Postpartum
- Women's Care Center (another inpatient unit for non‑pregnant women who have had procedures)
- First Day:
Meet with NM for NEO onboarding; rest of the day on the unit for training - Second Day:
Training with preceptor - Third Day:
Assigned a work buddy; will have own patient assignment
- No set schedules
- Must be available to work 7 days a week
- Plugged into schedule where traveler is needed
- Every other weekend block scheduling; patterned scheduling not guaranteed
- RTO:
