Position Overview
Urgent Care Hours of Operation:
Monday - Friday: 7 am - 9 pm
Saturday & Sunday: 8 am - 8 pm
Shift DetailsOur current staffing requirement is for MA/LPN closer. We offer both 8‑hour and 12‑hour shifts, typically scheduled from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM or 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Staffing needs are subject to change based on operational demands.
- Availability on Mondays and Fridays is required.
- Medical Assistants (MAs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are scheduled to work every other weekend ($1.50/hr shift premium).
- Holiday Rotation:
Yes, 8 am – 4 pm (time and a half pay).
$21.85 – $36.15
LocationAurora Medical Group (AMG) is part of Advocate Health. Urgent Care clinic at 6901 W Edgerton Ave (Aurora Urgent Care – Greenfield). This walk‑in clinic provides immediate care for non‑emergency conditions.

QualificationsLicensure or Certifications
- MA:
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (American Heart Association) within 45 days unless not required. - LPN:
Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices. - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA) within 45 days unless not required.
Degrees
- GED or HS Equivalency Diploma.
- MA:
Completion of an accredited program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full‑time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years. - LPN:
Advanced training beyond high school, including completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
- Welcome patients and support transition into care.
- Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
- Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
- Perform lab‑related tasks including specimen collection and point‑of‑care testing.
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
- Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high‑quality, coordinated care.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
- Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
- Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
- Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
- Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de‑escalation, if needed.
- May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
- Must respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
- Physical Abilities Testing may be required.
- Additional department specific physical requirements may be identified for unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.

Compensation details include base pay within the listed range, shift and on‑call premium pay, incentive pay for select positions, and opportunity for annual increases based on performance.
