Position Summary
Position is a part‑time 12‑hour night shift (Saturday‑Sunday nights) with rotations every third weekend and holiday rotation.
Start date targeted for May 2026. Minimum 1 year NICU RN experience required. Full‑time orientation for up to 6 months. Commitment to the schedule for at least 18 months after orientation.
Schedule- 12‑hour straight nights (19‑07:30) with hourly night bonus after orientation.
- Every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation.
- Weekend program options for days or nights; eligibility for bonus program after orientation.
- Partner in the care management team; coordinate and manage patient care for pediatric patients and families.
- Delegate patient care activities within the care management assignment.
- Assess, plan, and evaluate patient progress; record variances; communicate with care team when outcomes are not met.
- Coordinate discharge planning and teaching, ensuring completion of teaching and discharge teaching.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team; act as resource/advocate.
- Participate in program and community outreach, quality assurance, and professional development activities.
- Apply nursing process and growth/development principles in assessment and care planning.
- Perform point‑of‑care testing and blood collection per policy.
- Implement care management plans and assess outcomes.
- Teach families and patients; evaluate teaching effectiveness.
- Coordinate care and serve as advocate and resource for patients/families.
- Participate in unit improvement activities, research, and community education.
- Support hospital mission and strategic objectives.
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience required; NICU experience preferred.
- Principles of neonatal, pediatric and adolescent growth and development; child/family responses.
- Analytical skills to assess complex patient conditions and develop comprehensive plans.
- Interpersonal and communication skills to interact with interdisciplinary team and consumers.
- Delegate patient care to unlicensed staff appropriately.
- Represent organization professionally and promote positive image.
- Read, process and interpret clinical data.
- Work flexible hours and rotate shifts as needed.
- Communicate with families under stress and coordinate complex care.
- Operate troubleshooting patient care equipment.
- BLS‑Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider – American Heart Association / American Red Cross / National Safety Council (required).
- RN licensed in the State of Wisconsin (30) required.
- NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (required).
- Additional certifications: RN licensed in Tennessee (TN Compact) or Nebraska (NE Compact) optional.
- License to practice nursing in the State of Wisconsin.
- NRP certification within 1 year of employment.
