Position: Medical Assistant (MA) I or LPN - Float Pool

Schedule Details/Additional Information: Seeking an experienced MA or LPN to join our Milwaukee Area Float Pool Team. Schedule availability should be available from 7:00am – 6:30pm, starting and ending at any time within those hours; most shifts are 8:00am – 4:30pm or 8:30am – 5:00pm. Float Pool Differential – $2.00 for MA or $3.00 for LPN. Must have reliable transportation. Sign‑on bonus for qualified candidates.

Pay Range: $21.85 – $36.15 per hour

Actual compensation offered: For an MA: $21.85 – $32.80; for an LPN: $24.10 – $36.15. Compensation is based on qualifications, skills, experience and/or training.

What You’ll Do

As a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse you will play a vital role in the care team—supporting providers, connecting with patients, and ensuring a seamless, compassionate experience every day.

  • Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
  • Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
  • Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
  • Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
  • Perform lab‑related tasks including specimen collection and point‑of‑care testing.
  • Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
  • Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high‑quality, coordinated care.
About This Location

Our float pool supports a variety of specialties such as Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Women’s Health, and Integrative Medicine. This position will float to the following clinics:

  • Wiselives – 8320 W Bluemound Rd
  • St. Luke's Faculty Physicians – 2801 W Kinnickinnic River Pkwy Suite 770
  • St. Luke's Family Practice – 2801 W Kinnickinnic River Pkwy Suite 250
  • Edgerton Geriatrics – 6901 W Edgerton Ave
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds.
  • Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
  • Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch, and the ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures.
  • Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
  • Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de‑escalation, if needed.
  • May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease; protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
  • Must respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
  • Physical Abilities Testing may be required.
  • Additional department‑specific physical requirements may be identified for unique responsibilities.
