Registered Nurse; RN - Surgical Unit EF

Position: Registered Nurse – Med Surg (IU 3EF Surgical) at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, 35813 Aurora St.
Status: Full Time Hours: 36 per week Pay Range: $38.20 - $57.30 per hour

• Coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Utilize evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and effective communication to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
• Manage care of 4-5 patients during day/PM shifts and 5-6 patients during night shifts on a 26-bed post‑op surgical unit, including patients from PACU or Surgical ICU admissions.
• Administer the 3EF drip protocols (e.g., insulin, ketamine, dobutamine, heparin) and provide advanced procedural support.

• Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the candidate practices.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

36 hours per week, NOCS 19-07:30, 72 hours per pay period, shifts ranging 3‑12 hours per week. Rotations include every 3rd weekend (night shift).

26‑bed post‑op surgical unit with 16‑bed telemetry. Fast‑paced unit caring for patients in Gastroenterology, Urology, Gynecology, and Plastic Surgery. 75% of patients admitted from PACU or step‑down from Surgical ICU. The unit supports advanced clinical skills and offers strong governance and high nurse‑patient ratios.
