Registered Nurse Behavioral Health

Ascension is seeking a Registered Nurse Behavioral Health to deliver compassionate, patient‑centered care in an acute behavioral health setting. In this role, you will complete comprehensive mental health assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, and monitor patient responses. You will collaborate closely with psychiatrists, social workers, and other team members to support safe crisis stabilization, lead de‑escalation and therapeutic interventions, educate patients and families, and maintain accurate documentation.

• Perform comprehensive behavioral health and psychiatric nursing assessments
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans
• Administer medications and monitor for effectiveness and side effects
• Provide crisis intervention and utilize de‑escalation techniques to maintain safety
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers on treatment planning
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and coping strategies
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EHR
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and care coordination
• Support a safe therapeutic milieu and comply with regulatory standards
• Engage in ongoing professional development and evidence‑based practice initiatives

• Active RN license
• BLS certification
• CPI or equivalent de‑escalation training (preferred)
• Psychiatric‑Mental Health Nursing Certification – RN‑BC (preferred)
