Job DescriptionNight Shift 12 hours/day 3 days/week
Job Title: RN – Telemetry (Tele)
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift (36 hours/week) – 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Level III Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Magnet-designated facility, Comprehensive Stroke Center with 933 licensed beds
. - 27-bed Telemetry/Medical Surgical unit specializing in cardiac and pre-/post-surgical patient care.
- Minimum 2 years of Telemetry experience required.
First-time travelers accepted. - Patient population includes CHF, atrial fibrillation, dysrhythmias, Coumadin loading, cardiac catheterization, amputations, and pre-surgical patients
. - Required certification:
BLS
. - Must be experienced with cardiac drips (Primacor, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine), heparin, Lasix and insulin drips, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, telemetry interpretation, and wound care
. - Experience with EPIC EMR
, Alaris pumps
, Pyxis
, and Client monitors is preferred. - Patient ratios:
Days 1:4–5,
Nights 1:6–8. - Floating required to comparable inpatient units within scope of practice, including ED Holding and, on rare occasions, ICU for appropriate Telemetry/Med Surg assignments. Travelers are first to float.
- Orientation includes at least one shift to learn unit workflow.
- Every other weekend rotation required. No on-call.
One holiday per contract
. No block scheduling. - Overtime requires manager approval. Staff may not work more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts
. - Scrub color:
Any solid color (no camo or denim). Free parking available. - Must accurately document pain assessments before and after pain medication administration according to facility guidelines.
