*** our team that supports wound/skin and ostomy care throughout the inpatient hospital setting. This position will provide care and management of the wound and ostomy pediatric patient.
Responsibilities further include being a partner in the wound/skin/ostomy care team, providing coordination and management of patient care to pediatric patients and families within a continuum of care, and delegating patient activities as appropriate. The position requires collaboration with interdisciplinary health care teams, communication with patients, family and staff, and evaluation of quality outcomes.
Details:
* Part time: 32 hours per week (0.8 FTE)
* Daytime hours: 8 hour shifts with some required Monday and Fridays but must have some flexibility with work hours to meet patient care needs.

* Education:
*** Associate's Degree in Nursing required
* Bachelor's Degree BSN preferred
*
* Experience:
*** 2+ years nursing experience required
* 3-4 years nursing experience in pediatric nursing preferred
** Licenses and
Certifications:
*** Wound and Ostomy certification through the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society preferred
* BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council required
* License RN-Registered Nurse (30) - State of Wisconsin - required
Note:
If not currently certified, Wound and Ostomy nurse certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Orientation will be approximately 3-4 months.

* Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
*** Knowledge of the principles of neonatal, pediatric and adolescent growth and development and child/family responses to fear, illness, injury and hospitalization.
* Analytical skills necessary to assess complex patient conditions effectively and to develop comprehensive plans of care. Synthesizes multiple sources of information to assist in the resolution of human responses to complex problems. Interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to interact effectively with interdisciplinary health team members and consumers. Ability to delegate patient care activities effectively to unlicensed staff as appropriate and where indicated.
* The ability to represent the organization and serve consumers in a professional manner and promote a positive image of the organization and its services.
* Mental and sensory abilities to read, process and interpret clinical data.

* Essential Functions:
*** Uses critical thinking and nursing skills in caring for patients and families which are acquired through a process of integrating education, experiential knowledge and evidence-based guidelines. Develops, implements and evaluates a plan of care that is collaborative and addresses the needs of the patient and family resulting in optimal patient outcomes.
* Responds to the uniqueness of patients and families by providing and coordinating care that meets those needs. Creates a compassionate therapeutic environment to promote comfort and prevent suffering. Acts within professional boundaries as per ANA code of ethics and organization code of conduct.
