Role Description This full-time Neonatology Nurse Practitioner role is an on-site position located in Milwaukee, WI. The Neonatology Nurse Practitioner will provide advanced practice care for newborns and infants in neonatal settings, including assessment, diagnosis, and ongoing management of acute and chronic conditions. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing and implementing treatment plans, and collaborating closely with neonatologists, nurses, and other interdisciplinary team members.

The role involves communicating with families about care plans, educating caregivers on infant health and development, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice. The Nurse Practitioner will also participate in care coordination, documentation, and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Advanced practice skills as a Nurse Practitioner, with appropriate national certification and licensure.
  • Experience and proficiency in Neonatal Intensive Care, including management of critically ill newborns.
  • Strong foundation in Neonatal Nursing, with knowledge of developmental needs and family-centered care.
  • Clinical competence in Medicine and Nursing principles relevant to neonatal and pediatric populations.
  • Graduate degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP) from an accredited program.
  • Current state APRN license (or eligibility) and active RN license; national certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team, with strong communication and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Experience in pediatric or neonatal hospital settings and familiarity with electronic health records are beneficial.
