Nursing Assistant
Performs as a Nursing Assistant within the care management team under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Performs delegated nursing tasks for which competence is demonstrated through the Nursing Assistant skills checklist.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification
- Currently registered with the State of Wisconsin Registry for Nursing Assistants to be eligible for employment in the basic provider settings.
- Current CPR certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
Education
High School diploma or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) required.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Exhibits guiding behaviors that reflect Children's values and support our mission and vision.
- Possesses and competently demonstrates core Nursing Assistant skills as outlined in the skill competency checklist and understands the role of performing delegated tasks.
- Possesses a willingness and the initiative to successfully complete educational requirements while developing and learning new skills as required by the unit.
- Possesses effective interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact courteously and tactfully with patients, parents/families and members of the health care team.
- Possesses rudimentary assessment and analytical skills in order to perform basic patient observations.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Provides services in a setting where there is potential for exposure to blood and other high risk body fluids, chemotherapy agents, communicable disease and hazardous materials, chemicals, and waste.
Requires frequent standing walking, bending, reaching and carrying/lifting up to 50 lbs.
This is a general job posting for several different units. Details will be discussed further during the interview process.
Schedule:
Part time and full time 12 hour day shifts available (7:00am-7:30pm). Requires weekday and weekend rotation. Must have the ability to work a minimum of 1-3 (12-36 hours) shifts during the week, along with weekend rotation.
Must be able to attend central orientation September 14th, 15th, 17th, and 28th 8:00am-4:30pm, with no exceptions.Children's Wisconsin is an equal opportunity / affirmative action employer.
