Job PurposeThe Nurse Supervisor at Ovation Communities is responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. This role involves coordinating nursing activities, managing staff schedules, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and evaluate the performance of nursing staff to ensure adherence to clinical standards and protocols.
- Develop and implement nursing care plans in collaboration with healthcare teams to meet the needs of patients.
- Monitor patient care processes and outcomes, addressing any issues or discrepancies promptly.
- Manage staff scheduling and ensure adequate coverage to maintain optimal patient care.
- Conduct regular training sessions and professional development activities for nursing staff.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards, implementing necessary changes to policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to facilitate comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in the recruitment and selection of nursing staff, ensuring a high level of competency and professionalism.
- Address patient and family concerns, providing solutions and support to enhance satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Required
Education: - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Experience in a healthcare facility, preferably in a long-term care or assisted living environment.
- Proven track record of managing nursing staff and coordinating patient care.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide nursing staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with staff, patients, and families.
- Proficient in healthcare software systems and electronic medical records (EMR).
- Ability to assess patient needs and develop appropriate care plans.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and composure.
