Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse
. This is a full-time position that does not require late nights or holidays.
Are you a student in your last year of medical, nursing, or dental school, or a licensed primary care clinician?
If so, you can receive loan repayment assistance through the NHSC Loan Repayment Program (NHSC LRP) or you may be eligible to receive loan repayment assistance from the NHSC Students to Service Loan Repayment Program (NHSC S2S LRP).
National Health Service Corp Loan Repayment Program:
In exchange for loan repayment, you serve at least two years of service at an NHSC-approved site in a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA).

Who are we?Founded in 1999, Progressive Community Health Centers is an independent non-profit organization that operates four clinic locations in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. More than 100 employees support our agency's mission to improve the health and quality of life of the community by providing culturally competent services that address identified needs. We provide high quality, comprehensive care to roughly 16,000 patients annually, majority of who are low-income.
No one is ever turned away from our clinics based on insurance status or ability to pay. We value a patient-centered philosophy and provide range of services that include Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Women's Health, Urgent Care, Dental, and Integrated Behavioral Health. We also offer supportive services such as case management, health education and benefits enrollment.
The RN/LPN works collaboratively as an active member of the interprofessional team to provide therapeutic patient and family centered care. The RN/LPN systematically and continuously collects and assesses data related to patient health status to develop, execute and evaluate the plan of care. The RN/LPN utilizes evidence to drive clinical decisions and practice related to individual and population health. The RN/LPN establishes goals and strategies for meeting care coordination needs across settings with the patient, family, and/or other care providers.
The RN/LPN considers factors related to safety, effectiveness and fiscal accountability in planning and delivering care. The RN/LPN participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives and assumes responsibility for their professional development.
Service - Provides coordinated, patient- and family-centered nursing care by actively collaborating with the interprofessional team to meet care needs across settings.
According to the chief complaint, assess the severity of the patient's symptoms and guide the patient to the appropriate level of care (Scheduled visit, Same day slot when available, Walk-In/Urgent Care, or Emergency)
Empowers patients, families, and care partners by establishing shared goals, supporting care coordination, and using evidence-based information to guide informed decision-making.
Demonstrates compassion through therapeutic relationships, attentive assessment, and respectful engagement with patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
