- Coordinate and manage resources needed to provide optimal nursing care
- Manage staff resources, patient-care supplies, automated patient-care systems, and system issues
- Coordinate 24-hour staffing and scheduling patterns and labor-management standards
- Evaluate patient-care quality using standards of practice, patient outcomes, peer review, incident reports, policies, procedures, and equipment evaluations
- Ensure resources are available for performance-improvement initiatives
- Develop service strategies and monitor service levels against customer and patient satisfaction indicators
- Coordinate and integrate services with other areas
- Maintain relationships with patients, families, department staff, medical staff, other facilities, and vendors
- Facilitate evidence-based nursing practice and decision-making
- Participate in shared-governance councils and recommend changes in nursing practice
- Ensure compliance with The Joint Commission and other regulatory bodies
- Develop and communicate change initiatives
- Achieve care-management, employee-engagement, productivity, and patient-loyalty targets
- Assist with development and marketing of new and existing services
- Interview and select employees; manage promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and morale
- Develop and recommend operating and capital budgets and control expenditures
- Ensure compliance with the Aurora Health Care Code of Ethical Conduct and applicable policies, regulations, and laws
- Provide age-appropriate care based on patient status and developmental needs
- Provide leadership support across Bay Care, Bay Area, Oshkosh, Fond du Lac, Manitowoc, and Sheboygan sites as operational needs dictate
- Minimum 5 years of RN/nursing experience
- At least 1 year of current inpatient Nurse Manager experience
- Two or more years of current inpatient Nurse Manager experience strongly preferred
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices
- Certification in specialty within 1 year of eligibility
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Nursing
- 1 year of supervisory experience managing staff and budgets in a nursing environment at the supervisory/management level
- Advanced knowledge of nursing management concepts, clinical practice, and facilities policies and procedures
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Conflict resolution ability
- Human resource management skills
- Ability to handle multiple demands simultaneously
- Sound decision-making and critical-thinking skills
- Proficiency with computers, software, and electronic systems
- Flexibility and willingness to provide leadership support across multiple sites
- Willingness to float and flex according to site and department needs
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently
- Ability to occasionally lift over 50 lbs. with assistance
- Functional sight and hearing
- Ability to operate equipment essential to the job
- Ability to work with mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, blood, and body-fluid hazards
- Ability to wear gloves, goggles, and gowns as needed
Demonstrates advanced nursing management skills, including staff supervision, budget management, and compliance with regulatory standards. Proficient in coordinating patient care, improving service strategies, and fostering relationships with diverse stakeholders.
