Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care

• Delegate appropriately to RNs, LPNs, and unlicensed assistive personnel
• Maintain accurate, timely EHR documentation
• Float to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area as needed
• Provide age-appropriate patient care based on growth and development principles

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Active registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where services are provided
• Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing
• 2 years of Med/surg RN experience specified for this resource role
• ACLS certification
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking
• Time management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Proficiency in computer functions, electronic records, email, and digital platforms
• Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting/supporting 35 pounds and pushing/pulling 30 pounds
• Ability to perform sliding transfers of 150 pounds with a second person present
• Functional speech, vision, hearing, touch, and fine hand manipulation skills
• Ability to respond quickly to changes in patient or unit conditions
• Physical Abilities Testing may be required
