Quality Engineering, QA Specialist - Analyst/Manager
What You Will Do
- Lead quality in new product development (NPD)
- Partner with cross‑functional and multi‑site teams to define and execute quality deliverables across the product lifecycle
- Drive APQP processes including PFMEAs, Control Plans, PPAP, MSA, and process capability
- Ensure successful product launches
- Collaborate with site quality teams to transition products into production
- Continuously improve launch quality performance and reduce risk
- Drive data‑driven quality improvements
- Analyze performance metrics and customer feedback to identify improvement opportunities
- Lead cross‑functional efforts to resolve top customer issues and reduce non‑conformances
- Strengthen quality systems and standards
- Develop, review, and improve quality acceptance standards (QAS)
- Align Badger Meter practices with industry standards (ISO, AS, etc.)
- Improve processes and product performance
- Identify opportunities to enhance product design, manufacturing processes, and inspection methods
- Develop robust test and inspection methodologies to ensure consistent quality
- Lead problem solving and corrective actions
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions using structured methodologies (8D, A3, etc.)
- Ensure timely disposition and follow‑through on non‑conformances
- Enable teams through training and mentorship
- Lead training in APQP, problem solving, statistical analysis, and quality tools
- Mentor site quality teams to build capability and consistency across locations
- Collaborate across the organization
- Partner with Supplier Quality, Reliability, and Quality Systems teams
- Build strong relationships to drive alignment and execution across functions
- Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- 10+ years of experience in quality engineering, NPD, or customer quality
- Quality & Technical Expertise
- Strong working knowledge of APQP, process validation, and statistical methods
- Experience leading PFMEAs, Control Plans, PPAP, MSA, and capability studies
- Familiarity with quality systems (ISO 9001, ISO 17025, AS9100)
- Continuous Improvement Mindset
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (required);
Black Belt preferred - Strong problem‑solving and root cause analysis experience (8D, A3, etc.)
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (required);
- Leadership & Influence
- Ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and drive alignment across multiple sites
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence without authority
- Additional Skills (Preferred)
- PMP or formal project management experience
- Multilingual (Spanish and/or French)
- Experience working in global or multi‑site environments
- Highly collaborative role across engineering, quality, manufacturing, and customer‑facing teams
- Global exposure supporting both U.S. and international operations
- Travel: up to 10%
