Starting Pay: $28-$40/hour (depending on experience and certifications)
Shift: 1st Shift (5am - 1:30pm) M-F
Location: Milwaukee Metro Area
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform radiographic inspections on critical castings, weldments, and manufactured components
- Independently execute X-ray operations, including technique selection, part positioning, and film exposure
- Develop and process radiographic film using established darkroom procedures
- Interpret radiographic images to identify discontinuities and determine product acceptance based on applicable specifications and standards
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records and certifications
- Review customer requirements and determine appropriate radiographic inspection methods
- Operate forklifts, hoists, and lifting devices to move parts safely throughout the inspection process
- Work with engineering, quality, and production teams to support customer requirements and compliance standards
- Assist with or perform additional Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods as needed
- Maintain compliance with customer, industry, military, aerospace, and internal quality requirements
- Support continuous improvement efforts within the NDT and quality departments
- Follow all safety policies and procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- High school diploma or GED required
- Additional education or training in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods required
- Minimum 3 years of radiographic testing experience inspecting castings required
- Current or certifiable RT Level II certification required
- Ability to certify to SNT-TC-1A, NAS-410, MIL-STD-2132, and/or NAVSEA standards
- Experience interpreting radiographic images and evaluating defects against customer specifications
- Strong understanding of NDT principles, quality standards, and inspection techniques
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, specifications, and inspection requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to obtain Trustworthy and Reliable status, including successful background screening requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred
